Al Ahly is third in the Club World Cup!

Al Ahly (EGY) managed to win third place in the FIFA Club World Cup Qatar by defeating Palmeiras (BRA) on penalties.

The Egyptian team looked better during the match although they failed to realize their scoring opportunities. Palmeiras had a game with little creativity and few opportunities, as they have had throughout the tournament.

They tied 0-0 and went to penalties, where the African team ended up winning 3-2, although they had to go to five penalties. El-Shenaway (EGY, Al Ahly) and Weverton (BRA, Palmeiras) threw a good save on each side and the Brazilians took three very bad penalties.

It is the second time that Al Ahly has finished third in the Club World Cup. Before he did it in 2006, when he beat America (MEX).
