Bayern Munich extend their lead in the Bundesliga, after defeating Augsburg 1-0 on the road. Still they were not in their best game and it seems as if they had not recovered from their elimination in the German Cup.
Robert Lewandowski (POL) was not very fine during the match and was substituted in the second half, although he did score the winning penalty, at minute 13.
Augsburg was pressing more. At 76 ‘Alfreð Finnbogason (ISL) missed a penalty and a minute later he shot from medium distance but barely went wide. Bayern were saved.
With this triumph, Bayern has 39 points to the 35 of RB Leipzig, who played at the same time and beat Union Berlin 1-0, which is now 6th in the table. Augsburg is 12th.
