Stéphane Peterhansel and Edouard Boulanger (FRA) won the overall in a Mini. “Monsieur Dakar” has now won the Dakar Rally a record 14 times, 8 of them in cars.
Andújar is the fourth rider from Argentina to win the Dakar in quads.
He is the first Latin American to win the Dakar Rally in motorcycles.
Cherpn, 52, had an accident last January 10 and died while being airlifted to France.
Al Attiyah, Benavides, Andújar, López, Duton/Etienne and Sotnikov lead.
Seth Quintero and Toby Price had to say farewell to the Rally today. Francisco López retook the lead.
