Hermosillo will face Culiacán in the Final of the Arco Liga Mexicana del Pacífico! The Naranjeros defeated the Sultanes de Monterrey 6-3 and with this they reached the four victories necessary to clinch the Series.
Hermosillo scored in the bottom of the second inning, batted in by Óscar Robles (MEX).
Gilberto Galaviz (MEX) drove in the first for Monterrey in the fifth. But the tie would not last long. In the sixth, Francisco Moreno (MEX) was filled with the house and there came the change of pitcher to face Luis Alfonso Cruz (MEX).
But there was still a three-run rally against Norman Elenes (MEX) after a hit by Isaac Paredes (MEX) and then two races brought by Isaac León (MEX). Hermosillo took the lead. Then Jasson Atondo (MEX) batted in another one. And then came the fifth run with a big hit by Norberto Obeso (MEX).
In 7th high José Amador (MEX) hit a home run for Monterrey’s third that gave them a bit of respite and hope.
Former World Series Champion Fernando Salas (MEX) returned to the mound for the first time since January 3 (due to illness) for the top of the eighth. He retired two batters but Roberto Valenzuela (MEX) blew the wall for the 3-6. There Salas was relieved and there would be no more damage.
In the 9th Heriberto Ruelas (MEX) received a hit and was relieved by Robinson Leyer (DOM) with one out. But he filled hje house with two walks. He got one out and then they got the final out at second base to tie up the win, 3-6.
There will be a Mexican classic in the Final of the Arco Liga Mexicana del Pacífico!
