GLOBAL SPORTS AGENDA

The Major highlight is the start of the Tokyo 2020 Summer Paralympic Games, with a total of over 250 gold medals in dispute in this first week of action.

The FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup will conclude. Champions Portugal are yet to secure a Quarter-Finals spot. The local Russian team (RFU) has secured its spot.

Formula 1 is back for three race weeks in a row, starting with the Belgian Grand Prix at Spa-Francorchamps. Extreme E will have its round in Kengerlussuaq, Greenland, in order to highlight the impact that climate change is having in the glacier areas.

Motorcycling will have the British MotoGP and two other very special events: the Bonneville Salt Flats Land Speed Trials in Utah and the 95th International Six Days Enduro, in Italy.

The FIBA 3×3 Basketball World Tour heads to Hungary, where Riga will count with Olympic Champions for Latvia. 

The Women’s Ice Hockey World Championships in Canada will define its Finalists.

The Vuelta a España enters its second week of competition.

In golf, the PGA enters its second tournament of the FedEx playoffs, with the BMW Championship.

Sailing’s Solitaire du Figaro is also set to start this week, with over 40 sailors.
